Parkersburg, WV (April 22, 2008) -- After his first two weekends out in 2008 Mike Balzano’s plans are to stay in the Ohio Valley area this coming weekend. First on Friday April 25th he’ll head to Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio for an unsanctioned event. On Saturday the 26th Balzano and crew will head to Middlebourne, WV for the 14th Annual Topless 50 at The Tyler County Speedway. On the upcoming weekends schedule Balzano said, “I had given a lot of thought to running the Lucas race at Bedford but right now the weather doesn’t look that great and with fuel prices the way they are we’re going to stay close to home”. Balzano also commented, “With the economy the way it is we’re going to limit our travel this year and see how things go and then decide on where we race”.

In the last two weekends Balzano had a Solid fourth place finish in the season opener for The Mid Atlantic Championship Series event at The Rock Allegany County Speedway in Cumberland, MD. The 2005 MACS Champion would follow that up with a ninth place finish in the World of Outlaws “Showdown in Sarvertown” at the Lernerville Speedway. This past weekend Balzano finished 8th at and Independent Racing Series (IRS) at Hilltop Speedway. “We were caught up in a wreck early on and had to go to the rear of the field and we came back to 8th so it wasn’t that bad”, he said.

As of right now for the following weekend only event he has scheduled is Friday May 2nd IRS race at Elkins Speedway in Elkins.
